Champion of Vorlki
Brodun began his career as a cleric in the service of his deity. At first, he was not so much the combat-trained representative of the church that many would associate with the term. He was more inclined toward study and contemplation and administrative duties, and there was a time when the idea that he would ever take up arms in service of the church would have prompted him to pray that the church should never be so desperate.
His destiny changed when, in the course of his duties, he discovered and dutifully reported what he thought at the time was a simple accounting error. Assigned to investigate further, he uncovered (much to his surprise) a small but remarkably well-organized embezzlement scheme that had gone unnoticed for nearly two years.
His unexpected accomplishment having brought him and his diligent study under closer scrutiny by higher levels of the priesthood, he found himself uprooted from his previous position and assigned to the ranks of those priests charged with eliminating and preventing (preferably preventing) corruption within the church itself. As part of his reassignment, he was expected to improve on his previously neglected combat training. He took to it more readily than had been anticipated, and he began to learn how to supplement might of arms through might of faith; his instructors began to wonder if he were in fact Chosen for that specific calling, despite his early career.
Now that his training has progressed to a point at which he is considered responsible for his own safety, he has been sent out on the kind of journeyman duty often undertaken by the better-known variety of clerics. He is expected, of course, to render all due assistance to church organizations as his other endeavors permit and to investigate and report suspicion of corruption, heresy, or abuse of power should he encounter it, but unless specifically called upon he is not expected to take official action in his role as an inquisitioner for the time being. He is currently at a loose end, so to speak, and looking for a group with which to travel, planning to offer his services as healer, scholar, guard, or whatever combination thereof is required.
